Janey's Sweet Potato Casserole

3 C cooked, mashed sweet potatoes

1 stick butter

1 C sugar

2 eggs

1/3 C milk

Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste

1 t vanilla



Crust:  1 C brown sugar, 1 C chopped pecans, 1/3 C flour, 1/3 C melted butter



In casserole dish, mix butter with mashed potatoes, then the other ingredients.  Mix well before adding crust (topping).

For the crust, mix the first three ingredients and spread over potatoes.  Pour the butter over this and bake in moderate oven (350) for 25-35 minutes.

You may use a 40-oz. can of potatoes.  Just heat and drain, then discard the syrup before mashing the potatoes.  ALSO, use only 1/4 C sugar.
